I realised I used the term ‘experience’ a lot in this post, but that is exactly what Afrika Burn is – a bombardment on your senses. Everything about it is an (unique) experience, including getting there. Settled in the middle of the Tankwa Karoo National Park, it’s about 4.5 hours drive from Cape Town, out of which 120 on a dirt road. For over 10 years both locals and foreigners have been gathering in the desert to partake in this eclectic arts festival. Born from its Bigger Brother in the States, Burning Man, Afrika Burn has always been announced as one of those must-experience events. So with our flight to Europe drawing closer we thought that we would do just that.
Some of you may have seen our recent post on Instagram picturing a stack of pancakes and berries. We normally don’t post food, but trust me, we are big foodies. In this post I’d like to share the recipe and explain how we got to know it.
In this section we will blog about some of our shared interests. As we are both born in the month of a Sagittarius, our curiosity is endless. Obviously, traveling is the main focus of our blog but there is so much more that we go nuts about whether it be food, sports, nature… Inspiration for our trips can pop from any corner and having a ‘why not’ attitude can lead to some interesting ideas. Sometimes, we will plan a whole trip around a single thing we want to do, such as hiking up a volcano or scuba diving. For example, we are already thinking how to go dance salsa in South America and learn how to sail in order to conquer the oceans. Hopefully, our interests will be some of your interest too and we can relate to each other. Feel free to comment and suggest any mild or wild idea!
